What is Deep brain stimulation (DBS)? Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is a surgical procedure whereby an implant or a pacemaker-like device called neuro-stimulator is implanted in the brain. The device sends electrical signals to the brain areas responsible for body movement to help regulate theiractivity.  Electrodes are placed deep in the brain (location depends upon the patient symptoms) and are connected to a stimulator/battery device. The device is implanted under the skin of the chest, below the collar bone. On activation, the device sends continuous electrical pulses to the target areas in the brain, blocking the faulty impulses that cause tremors. Patient can control the on and off of stimulator by handheld special magnets and
