How I Travelled Abroad for Weight Loss Surgery in India

Greetings, everyone. I am Pauline Murti and I reside in the northernmost part of New Zealand. I would like to tell you about my experience of traveling abroad for a weight loss surgery in India and how it improved my life immensely.

The reason behind my decision to have a weight loss surgery abroad

My weight was always an issue for me and I attempted various methods of losing it, such as different diets and exercise regimes, but none of them worked for me. I suffered from obesity and had several health complications because of it, such as hypertension, sleep apnea, and joint pain. I was dissatisfied with my looks and my lifestyle. I had a long-standing wish to undergo a weight loss surgery, but it was too costly and inaccessible in New Zealand.

Most of our doctors are Indians anyway, so it seemed logical to opt for a weight loss surgery in India. I began doing my homework online and discovered that India has some of the finest bariatric surgeons in the world and that the price of the weight loss surgery in India  is much lower than in New Zealand.

How did I come across IndiCure Health Tours?

One of the doctors that frequently appeared in my research was from Mumbai. He has over two decades of expertise in weight loss surgery in India and has performed more than 10,000 procedures with outstanding results. He is also associated with some of the best hospitals in India for bariatric surgery that have cutting-edge facilities and equipment.

I decided to get in touch with IndiCure Health Tours, a medical tourism company that assists international patients in arranging their weight loss surgery abroad trips to India. They have a team of specialists who guide you through every step of the process, from selecting the right bariatric surgeon and hospital to booking your accommodation. I was very impressed by their professionalism and responsiveness. They answered all my queries and concerns quickly and clearly. They also provided me with all the information I needed about the types of surgeries, the risks and benefits, the pre- and post-operative care, and the recovery process.

How was my experience of bariatric surgery abroad?

I chose a date for my bariatric surgery abroad and booked my flights. I was a bit anxious about traveling to a foreign country for such a major operation, but IndiCure Health Tours reassured me that everything would be taken care of. They were right. As soon as I arrived in Mumbai, I was welcomed by a friendly representative who took me to my hotel.

The next day, I underwent several tests to make sure I was ready for the weight loss surgery. They scanned my liver, lungs, heart, and blood sugar levels. They also verified my previous test results from New Zealand. I felt very secure and well-prepared for the weight loss surgery in India. The hospital was hygienic and modern, and the staff were polite and attentive. My bariatric surgeon met me before the surgery and explained everything to me in detail. He was very compassionate and confident. My weight loss surgery abroad went smoothly and successfully. I stayed in the hospital for two more days and then moved back to my hotel.

How is my recovery going after weight loss surgery abroad?

I am now on a liquid diet for four weeks, followed by a pureed diet for another four weeks. After that, I can gradually introduce solid foods into my diet. I have to take vitamin supplements every day and follow up with my doctor regularly. I don’t feel hungry at all because of the weight loss surgery. I also don’t have any cravings or temptations for unhealthy foods.

I feel lighter and more energetic every day. I have already lost a lot of weight since the surgery and I can see it in my clothes and in the mirror. I am so happy with the results and I can’t wait to see the final outcome.

What else did I do in India, apart from weight loss surgery abroad?

Apart from having the weight loss surgery in India, I also had a chance to explore Mumbai and its surroundings. It is a fascinating city with a lot of diversity and culture. I saw some amazing sights.
